Loafers

I am a big fan of loafers and brogues. I think the loafer is particularly great because they bridge the gap between formality and comfortableness (probably not a word but suits my purpose). I ummed and ahhed about investing in a pair from Russell and Bromley for ages but then lucky old me found an a pair of vintage Bally loafers in Huddersfield vintage market for £4, unworn and in my size.

The loafer report:
Russell and Bromley is probably the most popular loafer makers at the moment, however...

This new range by Tommy Hillfiger and G.H. Bass and Co may steal their thunder. Made using traditional methods these authentic penny loafers are pretty special. Blue soles!

These navy loafers from Church's are also not without their charms.

The Bally find, love!

Chelsea Boots

Topshop, £70- From certain angles these look a bit like wellies.

Clarks, £49.99- Quite clumpy but I think they will look alright when they've been worn in.

Riding Boots

I am constantly in persuit of the perfect riding boots. I see them in vintage stores and they're too small, I see them on the high street and they just aren't what i'm looking for, I see them in designer shops and the calf isn't big enough... Maybe i'm not meant to have some of these boots, sad times!

If I had smaller calves I would love these leather riding boots by traditional English shoe maker Church's, £460.

These riding boots from Zara aren't half bad, £109

The rubber riding boot, a great alternative to wellies.

Wooden boot trees help keep the shape of the boots when they're not being worn.

Boot Trees- They look like prosthetics!
