After a very long blog absence (had things to muse about but haven't mused), I felt that my new favorite thing deserved a post; brace yourself it's going to be pretty shallow. Dior top coat for nails is incredible! Put it over any nail varnish and it not only enhances the shine but also dries your nails to rock hard in less than 10 minutes and makes your paint job last for at least a week and a half if not longer. This top coat is a must have for those of us that like to have painted nails but never have the time to do it.

Paris Shows
A few of my other highlights...
Alexis Mabelle: This collection has a bit of an 'I Love Lucy' feel to it. I really like his use of tafetta and how he places loose translucent silks over the top of fitted dresses to create more defined silhouettes.
Dior: Galliano was definitely rummaging round in the Dior archives when he created this collection. The pieces are clearly influenced by the dresses Dior was making in the 50s. Love the Jessica Rabbit make up and hair on the models.
Chanel: I really wasn't a fan of most of this collection, thigh length tweed coats and sequin trousers really don't do it for me. However there was a couple of pieces that did catch my eye.
Coat, minus the trousers and flat pointy pumps.

Vintage Dresses
Most of my dresses are vintage. I love foraging in vintage markets and shops looking for them. I think one of the most important things to look for in a vintage dress is fabulous fabric. The fabric is the first thing I register when I see a dress and then I look to the style of the dress. Alot of vintage dresses are that funny mid calf length but don't let that put you off, it is relatively cheap to have a dress taken up and it can transform the dress from being slightly drab to AMAZING.
Some of my best finds...
Lanvin Maxi dress, New York
Whimsical puff sleeve dress, Manchester. This dress was maxi when I got it but I think it works much better as a mini, as a maxi it was too much of a look. I wear this one with black Prada ankle boots and socks. Hair in a bun.
My newest purchase from Portobello Market (Ladbroke Grove end). This one was that funny mid calf length when I got it, love it short. I'm really looking forward to wearing this with black YSL tribute too pumps (when I get them) and black tights in winter.

Flake Dress
The Anthony Price dress from the new Cadbury's Flake advert is simply breath taking. The layers of canary yellow chiffon move beautifully as the dress is spun and sprayed with Cadbury's signature shade of purple.
Stunning, it could be an advert for a Dior perfume.
The spraying of the dress is reminisant of Alexander McQueen's spring/summer 1999 show.
